The VPPPA National Board of Directors, Region II Chapter Board of
Directors and the VPPPA National Office are proud to announce
their involvement in the 2008 Puerto Rico Safety and Health
Congress and Expo that will take place from October 28 to
November 2, 2008. This is a combined effort to serve the needs of
VPP, “Cemí”- Merit and “Guanín”-Star sites in Puerto Rico, Puerto
Rico OSHA Office, the public and private sector and any
occupational safety and health professional in Puerto Rico and
Virgin Islands. The conference will offer a broad range of learning
opportunities. On October 28 and 29, participants will be able to
choose from several workshop topics and tracks including:
numerous OSHA training courses, VPP application workshops,
strengthening “Guanín”-Star Quality Workshops, as well as
specialized training tracks on VPP, general industry and construction
.

Although Puerto Rico is an OSHA State-plan State, it falls under the
jurisdiction of Region II federal OSHA. New Jersey, New York and
the Virgin Islands, all federal OSHA States, are also included within
Region II. The region II VPPPA Chapter Board repeatedly hosted
successful annual conferences in New York and New Jersey and
this year’s involvement in the Puerto Rico Safety and Health
Congress and Expo is one of their many efforts to continue
promoting the principles of VPP within Region II.
